Dear Readers,
Welcome to this issue of SiteNews! We hope you have found the resources on the site to be helpful.
Standardisation has offered a way of improving quality by sharing the best practices which is then adapted as the protocol for work. In a hospital with so many systems there are several aspects which if standardized would lead to provision of better patient care. This issue of Sitenews focuses on standardization through sharing of protocols both administrative, clinical and research.
Each of the resource provided is in the nature of a protocol created by different institutions. Hence it is also set to meet the local context. It definitely offers a beginning for each hospital to standardize its practices.
The featured website is the Cochrane collaboration which is really been spearheading an extremely novel initiative in order to ensure research evidence is translated into practice.
Hope this issue will impart the resources which are worth to be read. Looking forward to come up with more resources in future.
We wish you an experience of learning that is very practical. Your feedback will let us know how we can improve. Please write in your feedback at eyesite@aravind.org. We look forward to your feedback.

We wish our readers an informative reading!

Happy reading!
Regards,
Vision 2020 e-resource team

The Cochrane Collaboration

The Cochrane Collaboration is an international not-for-profit and independent organization, dedicated to making up-to-date, accurate information about the effects of healthcare readily available worldwide. It produces and disseminates systematic reviews of healthcare interventions and promotes the search for evidence in the form of clinical trials and other studies of interventions. The Cochrane Collaboration was founded in 1993 and named after the British epidemiologist, Archie Cochrane.

The major product of the Collaboration is the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews which is published quarterly as part of The Cochrane Library.

Those who prepare the reviews are mostly healthcare professionals who volunteer to work in one of the many Cochrane Review Groups, with editorial teams overseeing the preparation and maintenance of the reviews, as well as application of the rigorous quality standards for which Cochrane Reviews have become known.

The activities of the Collaboration are directed by an elected Steering Group and are supported by staff in Cochrane Entities (Centres, Review Groups, Methods Groups, Fields/Networks) around the world.
